The first session will be Level 1 and will be in a traffic free situation on the Multi Use Games Area at King George Vth Playing Fields where we ensure participants have the skills needed to go on the road. The other sessions take place on local quiet roads, looking at how to move in traffic and negotiate parked cars, side roads and junctions.
For the road sessions the ratio is two instructors to a maximum of 12 trainees and for all sessions we meet at Watford Cycle Hub, The Pavilion, Chaffinch Lane, WD18 9QD
The course will be led by National Standards Bikeability Instructors who work for Herts County Cycle Training Team.
The course will be continually assessed and at the end of the week those candidates who have achieved the National Standard will be awarded a Level 2 certificate and badge.

The course costs £26 We have received numerous enquiries about the courses so early booking is recommended and payment in advance is required to confirm the reservation. Payment can be done either on-line by or in person at Watford Cycle Hub by cash, cheque or card . There is a maximum of 10 places available for each of the courses.
All participants must be in Year 5 or above at school and have a roadworthy bike and helmet for the course so it is advisable to check the bikes in advance. We offer a free bike assessment and on production of the assessment sheet a 10% discount will be given for any work needed. We also have bikes for hire and sell helmets and other cycling accessories at competitive prices.
Before riding on the Public Highway, all Level 2 participants must submit a completed Watford Cycle Hub Rider Participation and Information form, signed by their parent or carer, available here:
