Learn to Ride & Bikeability Courses

Want your kids cycling safely on the road…..bikeability-logo

What is Bikeability?

Bikeability is ‘cycling proficiency’ for the 21st century, designed to give the next generation the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today’s roads.

There are three Bikeability levels, with each level designed to help improve their cycling skills, no matter what they know already. Levels 1, 2 and 3 take trainees on a journey from the basics of balance and control, all the way through to planning and making a journey by themselves on busier roads.

Children will typically start Bikeability lessons once they have learnt to ride a bike.
Level 1 will help new riders to control their bike before they move on to developing on-road skills at Level 2.
Level 2 is usually tackled by children in Years 5 or 6, before they leave primary school.

Level 3 teaches trainees how to ride in different and more challenging traffic situations, and is usually completed by children of secondary school age.
To register participants must have already successfully completed Level 2.

Kids will enjoy learning the skills and developing the confidence to ride their bikes on today’s roads.

The courses start on the dates below, click on a course for more information and to book online.

bookingdisc

Our bike maintenance modules are aimed at anyone who wants to know more about how their bike works, reduce costs or just get their bike in peak condition.

A chance for a sociable, bike related activity in the company of like-minded people.

We offer a seven week programme in the Cycle Hub workshop of “pick-and-mix” modules.

Each week the module will cover a different topic, tuition will be in small groups of 6-8 with our fully qualified staff.

Cost is either £25.00, £30 or £35.00 depending on the length of the module.

Sessions benefit from the interaction of the group so encourage friends as we’d prefer to run each module with a minimum of 6.
